Thousands of folks paraded along The Drive on Saturday August 1st to celebrate the Vancouver Dyke March Festival 2026. QUIRK-E occupied our home base, Britannia 55+ Centre for a raucous sing-a-long to I’m a Hockey Fan and I’m Okay which concludes with the lyrics “I wear big boots, I demonstrate, I ride a motorbike…I keep my elbows up and I call myself a dyke.”

Blair Brienza ably introduced our stories, poems and facilitated an intimate talk back that included everyone who attended. We shared memories of connecting with our queer communities both current and historic. We were privileged to feature younger poet, Lilith Brodt as well as eight Quirk-e elders.
