We honoured Chris Morrissey at QMUNITY’s 2025 IDAHOBIT breakfast on Thursday, May 15 at the Fairmont Hotel Vancouver along with nearly 500 guests. Our hosts called out Chris’s work at QMUNITY when it was known as The Centre and acknowledged the contribution in her name by our QUIRK-E table. The Emcee lovingly described some of us as seventy-five-year-old lesbians with many inspiring stories about our decades of activism. We shared our table with folks from Dignity Seniors https://www.dignityseniors.org/#gsc.tab=0 and Rainbow Refugee https://www.rainbowrefugee.com/. Our longtime ally, MP Hedy Fry, also joined in our photo.
Now in its 17th year, QMUNITY’s annual IDAHOBIT Breakfast is one of Vancouver’s most anticipated gatherings in support of 2SLGBTQIA+ communities 🌈 Each year, guests come together to connect across sectors, share bold ideas, and recommit to building a province where queer, trans, and Two-Spirit people can thrive.
The event brings together leaders in government, business, and community who understand that inclusion is not just a value, but a responsibility. This annual breakfast is a rallying point—spotlighting urgent issues, elevating lived experiences, and sparking real action to advance equity across British Columbia.
This year’s theme, A Sense of Direction, invited us to consider how we lead with purpose in uncertain times. As 2SLGBTQIA+ communities face growing social and political challenges, finding our path forward demands clarity, courage, and collective effort ✨
