The caribou, wolf and bear roam freely on the land
The wolves crush bone with teeth and jaws,
The bears rip flesh with teeth and claws,
They share the land, and nature’s laws.
The earth is home to deadlier beasts,
Some leave tailings ponds that leach,
Moved by greed, not Gaia’s need,
They frack, clear cut and extract.
While wildlife and forests burn,
Around the world, the rivers churn,
Trees and animals have no voice,
And tomorrow’s child has no choice.
Those who rule from concrete towers
Disdain the earth and its children,
They rush to extract gas and oil,
Their actions foretell mass extinction.
