Fifteen seniors of all different backgrounds joined River Glen, Lorri Rudland, Farren Gillespie, Val Innes and Cyndia Cole for two hours of sharing QUIRK-E stories at 411 Seniors Centre in Vancouver on July 22, 2025. The tales and poems featured humour, love, challenges, pride and memories of Grandma. The circle of participants shared their own thoughts in response. One said, “I have been an ally of your community since the 1980s, since my brother died from AIDS.” We encouraged all elders to write their memoirs and may be asked to return in the future to facilitate a workshop.
