Pat Hogan has been a member of Quirke from its early days. Since moving to Canada in 1969, she has initiated services and organizations specifically focused on women’s rights, advocacy, and support. She has produced music and performance events through her organization Sounds & Furies Productions, founded in 1990 when Gay Games came to Vancouver, as well as opening Josephine’s, a community-based cafe in East Vancouver.
Pat founded BOLDFest, a 17-year-old organization which brings together older lesbians from across North America to Vancouver annually. She presently serves on the board of Britannia Community Services Centre and is a member of a Rainbow Refugee Circle of Hope, a Canada-wide community organization which helps LGBTQ2S+ people seeking refugee status in Canada. She is a proud mother and grandmother with two granddaughters in Nelson, BC and three grandsons in Australia. In December 2023, her great-granddaughter Maia was born in Australia.
