Marsha Ablowitz

Marsha Ablowitz

Marsha Ablowitz grew up in the rainy city of Vancouver. She studied writing at UBC in the 1960s and realized that her art would not pay bills. She became a mental health social worker, women’s self-defense instructor, traveler, and mountain climber.

Marsha started Vancouver’s first agency-sponsored women’s lib groups, lesbian support groups, and led many women’s survivors groups dealing with physical, sexual, and emotional abuse. She is an original member of Quirk-e. Now she hikes, carves wood, is writing a LGBT2S sci-fi novel, and swims in the ocean year round.
